Blac Chyna marked ex-partner Rob Kardashian’s 39th birthday on March 17 with a public tribute on Instagram, sharing a throwback photo of the two alongside their daughter Dream and writing that he is “the best dad to our baby girl.”
The gesture reflects how far the former couple has come since their 2017 breakup, which was followed by years of legal conflict. In 2022, Chyna pursued a defamation lawsuit against Rob’s family — including Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Kris Jenner — a case that was ultimately decided in the Kardashian-Jenners’ favor.
In the years since, both have taken notably different paths. Rob stepped back from reality television and has largely stayed out of the public eye. Chyna, born Angela White, underwent a personal transformation that included getting baptized, removing facial fillers, and earning a doctorate from the Sacramento Theological Seminary and Bible College.
Despite ongoing warmth between them, sources confirmed to media outlets in October that the two are not romantically involved. Chyna addressed her relationship status herself in December, posting on Instagram that she was ending the year single. Still, she has spoken positively about Rob in public, and her October birthday message included the words, “This love is forever.”
Both have spoken openly about the work required to maintain a functional co-parenting dynamic. “The main thing is communication, and also learning your boundaries,” Chyna told Access Hollywood. “If you have your own thing going on, you won’t be so much in the other person’s business.”
Rob, who also has a close relationship with his family — particularly sister Khloé — has described fatherhood as a grounding force in his life. “Instead of focusing my energy on a lot of other things, I’m all about my daughter,” he said in a recent interview. “Dream makes it very easy. She’s very smart and she’s a good kid.”
Dream, now nine years old, is Rob’s only child. Chyna also has a 13-year-old son, King Cairo, with ex-fiancé Tyga.
